Terms & Conditions

1. About HandyFindy

HandyFindy is the trading name used by the sole trader operating this platform. Support and cancellation requests: support@handyfindy.com.

HandyFindy provides a marketplace for customers and independent professionals to find, discuss and arrange local services. The professional supplies the agreed work. HandyFindy supplies the separate introduction and booking service. Nothing in these terms removes responsibility for our own services or any mandatory consumer rights.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Provide accurate information, keep your account secure and use only your own identity documents. Professionals must obtain all qualifications, licences, insurance and permissions required for their services. Identity approval is a manual identity check and is not a guarantee of skills, insurance, suitability or workmanship.

3. Tasks, quotes and professional services

Customers must describe the work accurately and disclose relevant access and safety requirements. Professionals must state what their quote includes, the timing and any exclusions. Both parties should agree the scope before acceptance. The professional’s service price is paid directly to the professional; HandyFindy collects only the displayed customer commission. Changes to the work or price require agreement between the parties and do not automatically change an existing platform commission.

4. Customer commission and cancellations

The customer pays the commission displayed before accepting a quote. Once the quote is accepted, payment is confirmed and HandyFindy has supplied the agreed introduction and booking service, the commission is non-refundable if the customer or professional later cancels the job, changes plans, does not proceed or fails to attend, except where a refund is required by law.

The commission pays for the separate platform introduction and booking service, rather than the physical work. That service is completed when the accepted booking is confirmed and the parties’ contact details are made available. Cancelling the job in the portal does not automatically refund the commission. This policy does not exclude remedies for a platform service that was not supplied, was defective, or otherwise failed to meet legal requirements. Duplicate or incorrect charges should be reported for investigation. Test bookings collect no real money.

5. Consumer cancellation rights and immediate service

Consumers may have a 14-day cancellation right for an online service contract. If you request immediate performance, the platform may begin its introduction and booking service during that period. You must separately acknowledge that the cancellation right for this platform service ends only once it has been fully performed, where the legal requirements for that exception are met. Before full performance, any lawful charge for service already supplied must be proportionate. Paying the commission or ticking a box does not by itself remove statutory rights.

To exercise an available cancellation right, provide a clear statement identifying your account, booking and cancellation request to support@handyfindy.com. A model statement is: “I give notice that I cancel my HandyFindy platform service contract for booking [number], agreed on [date]. Name: [name]. Account email: [email]. Date: [date].” You may email the statement to support@handyfindy.com. The professional’s own service contract may carry separate cancellation rights.

6. Communication and contact information

Use platform messaging before acceptance. Do not share telephone numbers, email addresses, social handles or other off-platform contact information to bypass the booking process. Messages containing such details may be blocked. Contact details are released after confirmed live commission payment. Sandbox and Stripe test payments do not release private contacts.

7. Conduct, suspension and account closure

No fraudulent listings, impersonation, unlawful services, harassment, abusive messages or misleading reviews are permitted. We may restrict accounts or remove content for misuse or security concerns. Where appropriate, we will explain the action and allow the member to seek review. Account closure does not erase existing obligations. Financial and transaction records may be retained separately from deleted profile information.

8. Reviews, complaints and disputes

Reviews must reflect actual experience and must not disclose private information. Report disputed reviews through the platform. Discuss work concerns with the professional through the booking conversation and retain supporting records. Platform payment or service complaints can be sent to support@handyfindy.com and should identify the booking and the remedy requested. Mandatory dispute and consumer remedies remain available.

9. Privacy and records

We process account, task, message, verification and payment-related data to operate the platform. Identity documents are restricted to the applicant and administrators. Financial records and acceptance evidence are retained for accounting and dispute management. See our Privacy Notice for information about how we handle personal data and how to exercise your rights.

10. Responsibility and availability

Professionals are responsible for delivering their agreed work and customers for providing the agreed access and payment. We do not promise uninterrupted platform availability. No provision excludes liability or consumer remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility for our own failure to provide the platform service with the legally required standard of care.

11. Changes and applicable law

The terms shown and accepted for a booking apply to that booking. Later changes apply prospectively and do not remove accrued rights. Irish law applies, subject to any mandatory protections and court rights available to consumers under applicable law.
